Chanoyu (tea ceremony) as a Tonic for Mind and Body: A table lesson in tasting the essence of nature
Participants in the workshop will create a delicious experience, one that is created solely by and for those participants and that exists only on this day and in this moment.
First, we will prepare the breath and the body, bringing both into alignment. While appreciating the surroundings, we will partake of seasonal Japanese sweets (wagashi) accompanied by matcha, which embodies the essence of nature. We then will challenge ourselves to prepare our own gift to ourselves, in the form of a cup of matcha. Finally, Master Denda will speak about the rich and fulfilling moments that are born out of the practice of preparing a cup of tea.
